Armor of God: Eph 6: 10-20

We had another great team meeting last night, with our guest speaker, Justin S. talking about spiritual warfare. It is important it is for us to realize there is a spiritual war waging in the world right now and when Christians "get off the bench and onto the ice" we become more of a threat to the enemy, so he steps up his offense. Being aware of this continual battle is the first step to guard against it. Awareness, preparation and prayer are our best defenses.  Special prayers were said for Kevin and Sharlene, who were absent due to a health matter. We look forward to seeing them both at next week's meeting.

Prayers have been answered already - we found a seat sale with direct flights from Canada to Colombia!  PTL! We had to adjust our dates slightly (Feb 17 - March 4) but no one found that an issue.

It's hard to believe that we only have 9 more meetings before we leave. We are getting to know each other better and better and I truly feel that God has called this very special group of Christians together for this trip.  I can't wait to see what God is going to do through us; this is HIS trip :)

Children's Vision International August 2010

Team Canada to Colombia

It is so amazing how our God works; no, HE is an amazing God!! After returning from Children's Vision International in Bogota, Colombia in August of this year, I was so blessed to share about my experience with many groups of people. God placed it on my heart to put a "Team Canada" together and head back to Colombia. Our home church, Ebenezer Baptist has teamed up with Circle Drive Alliance Church in Saskatoon and, behold - He's done it again!!!

We have a total of 15 people heading to Colombia with us for two weeks in February 2011! He has blessed us with a wonderful leadership team and members ranging in age from 15 to 43....teachers, nurse, youth pastor, electrician, welder, farmer, handymen, students and a few of us with administrative giftings. I am so excited to see how God is going to use us!

Our first of 11 pre-trip training sessions begin this Friday. Now that God has sent us a team, we ask for your prayers to help the team "gel" and to be united and that each individual is totally open to allowing God to work in them now and throughout the mission process.

"It's not about what WE do on this trip, it's about what GOD does through us!"

I have never led a missions team before and have gone through bouts of feeling unqualified. However, just now, I prayed and asked God to speak to me -- my Bible fell to Psalm 71:5 "For you have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth."

It's funny how when we feel the least confident is when we tend to lean on God the most -- we can't do it all alone - but through Him all things are possible. - Carol
